The Cardoon is a minor flower crop, often underestimated for its ornamental qualities. However, the very rustic plant which requires very limited growing care, the esthetical value of the flower both when partly closed and when fully open, the tremendous vaselife make it a very profitable crop for greenhouse and for open field (depending on the areas).
Though there is no intense professional genetic improvement on this species, we are pleased to offer a selected variety, Blue Artist, propagated through TC culture, which gives high performance under different growing conditions.
