After establishing and assessing the background for a proper breeding by targets, many selections are being selected for the cut flower markets.
Currently tests are carried on in the most important cut hydrangea countries (Italy, Holland, Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil, Kenya, China, ecc.) and new varieties are commercially introduced.
The introduction in the hydrangea breeding of global breeding and selections methods which we used over thirty years in other cops (roses, carnations) is now giving excellent outcomes.
The new line is called Azzurra®, and some of the new introductions are Regina Azzurra®, Sweet Azzurra®, White Azzurra®, Green Azzurra®, Blush Azzurra® (for European and mediterranean climates) and Latin Azzurra®, Pink Azzurra®, Jade Azzurra®, Bridal Azzurra® (climate neutrals, so ideal for tropical climates, too).
